Happiness was...

When I was a cute little girl of about 8 or 9, happiness meant "Ting-Ting" candy...
Ting-Ting candy is the chinese name for a type of candy that was very popular in Malaysia and Singapore during my childhood time...The candy is as hard as rock and it needs to be chiselled from a big slab into bite-sized pieces...hence the name "Ting-Ting" - the noise from the chiselling. The steel container containing the slab of candy is usually placed at the back of a bicycle or a motorbike of the seller. Although it's so hard that it needs to be chiselled, Ting-Ting candy will melt slowly once you've put it in your mouth...it's very sweet and sticks to your teeth when it's melting...mmmmm.....
To me, that, was happiness...a sticky kind of happiness....
I wonder if people are still selling it here....It's been a long long time....

Adorable. I love her big smile, but her straight hair in bangs and pigtails is the best!

I love the sweet illustration and the story it so perfectly captures. I enjoyed looking at your illustrations on your website too. Your little self-portrait icon is lovely. Did you make the music that plays on your website? Very interesting.

Thanks and :) for all!

Jana, I'm glad you like my antique self potrait. As for my website, I'm going to re-do the whole thing soon...It's not very smooth at the moment. The music is not my own...I'm thinking of composing my own tune for my updated website...
